Mountain Bikes

Mountain bikes are built tough and durable with plenty of suspension and traction for the smoothest ride possible on the bumpiest trails. They achieve their stability with wide knobby tires to grip even the loosest dirt, suspension on the front and often the back wheel as well to soften unavoidable bumps and drops, Even the position of the handle bars has been adapted to give the rider the best view of the trail and the  most control.

Mountain bikes are constructed to be the strongest possible without adding too much weight. Most riders don’t the option of riding a lift to the top of the hill and pointing their moto-bicycle down any cliff, ravine, log, or trail that looks the scariest. Most have to pedal uphill but also like the smoothness and control of front or full suspension. It is a fine balance of weight, durability and cushiness.

Mountain bikes range in price from around $300 for a basic front suspension hard tail mountain bike to well over $10,000 for the best downhill racing stallions with over 200mm of front and rear suspension. Most weekend warrior have bikes in the $900-$2000 range which provides incredible reliability, strong parts, and smooth suspension in most terrain. They may not be the lightest bikes, but they are still plenty of fun.
